Community Physiotherapy Service

Promotes functional independence by providing assessments and individualised programmes and education for seniors and physically challenged individuals, at home or in residential care facilities. Young children with severe delays in normal motor development, who do not have access to physiotherapy at other facilities, may be serviced via medical referral.

Occupational Therapy Service

Provides assessment and treatment of individuals with disabilities to rehabilitate and maximise the individual’s functional independence. Clients are treated in the home or in residential care facilities.

Opportunity Workshop

Opportunity Workshop is a training centre for young adults, eighteen years of age and older, with learning and/or physical disabilities.  Its objective is to provide opportunities for continued development of functional, social and vocational skills to promote independent living in the community.  Opportunity Workshop works in partnership with other divisions of the Department of Health to provide clients with dental and nutrition services, as well as regular occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language therapy.  Admission to the programme is based on medical confirmation of disability status and assessment of functional abilities.

Orange Valley

Orange Valley is the recommended service for adults with cognitive challenges.  It is dedicated to promoting and enhancing quality of life through a wide array of services.  A few features are day release placements, screenings and intervention.  Orange Valley offers recreational, educational and multi-sensory programmes, along with a daily bus service and a dynamic, social summer programme.  Through partnership with the Department of Health, the Centre provides dental and nutritional assessment, speech and physical therapy maintenance.  Referrals are accepted from Family Services, the Ministry of Education & Development, and self-referrals.

Seniors’ Health & Wellness Clinics

Provide seniors with services that promote healthy behaviours and lifestyles that help to maintain and to improve health, quality of life and independence. Provide blood pressure screening and monitoring, blood sugar screening, nutrition assessment and counselling, home safety and functional assessments of activities for daily living, adult immunizations, and prevention guidance in the areas of aging, safety, medication, falls and chronic illnesses,.
