The Legal Aid Counsel post was first filled on October 4^th, 2004.  The Legal Aid Counsel provides legal advice and representation in criminal, civil and family matters in all of Bermuda’s courts which include the Magistrates’ Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.  The Legal Aid Counsel also has administrative responsibilities which include meeting with potential applicants on appointment and the provision of legal advice.
